Copenhagen Flames sign CS:GO team

Tue 22nd Nov 2016 - 8:58am Gaming

We’re extremely proud to announce that we’ve signed the former Aquiver team as the organization’s new CS:GO team. The team is placed 8th on the Dust2 rankings following a couple of very succesful months. Thus, the team won this year’s NPF and reached the semifinals in the eOddset Cup.

The team consists of the following players:

Mosaver “doktizh” Bandri, 20

Max “neon” Mazur, 28

Ismail “refrezh” Ali, 18

Casper “Celrate” Andersen, 19

Victor “Andkilde” Andkilde, 23

Yet another esport?

With the addition of the CS:GO team, we’re expanding our organization and brand even further. Originally, a CS:GO team wasn’t even considered an option before 2017, but when the opportunity arose, we had to pull the trigger.

“As a newly established organization, CS:GO isn’t a very attractive esport. The Danish scene is super strong, which makes it hard to produce the results needed to make a name for yourself. We’ve done exactly this with both Overwatch, Hearthstone and Rocket League as of late. In addition, CS:GO is a significantly bigger investment than the aforementioned esports. This means that you really need to think everything thoroughly through before committing to it,” Steffen Thomsen, owner of Copenhagen Flames reflects.

Zero hesitation

But when the chance to sign the team presented itself, the trigger had to be pulled.

“I believe that talent can get you really far, but I believe so much more in dedication, spirit of self-sacrifice and commitment. This team has it all. Following a long and fruitful conversation with Mosaver [“doktizh”, captain of the team], there was no doubt in my mind that this team was the perfect fit for us. You must look long and far to find a more dedicated and professional player than him. I already had a good feeling about the potential partnership, and my further research as well as my network only confirmed that feeling, Thomsen explains.”

“We believe that this team can reach top 5 in Denmark. Something unique is needed if you want to reach top 3, but we’re ambitious and determined to become an elite team both in Denmark and in Europe.”

“I’m thrilled that we’re growing bigger as an organization, and I can’t wait for us to continue the hard work. Our vision is to elevate the Danish esports and the signing of these boys is yet another step in the right direction. We really hope that people will continue to support us and our cause,” the happy owner concludes.

A CS:GO team striving for greatness

As for the players, they’re very much aware of the hard work that lays ahead. After splitting from the Aquiver organization, the team began looking for a new organization with a similar mindset as themselves. Speaking to team captain, Mosaver “doktizh” Bandri, he makes it clear that Copenhagen Flames is the ideal match for them.

“It was important for us to become a part of a transparent organization that was able to match our goals and help us achieve them in the best way possible. Our expectations to Copenhagen Flames is that they provide us with the necessary time, space and backing needed. In return, we can guarantee 110% devotion and hard work,” the dedicated player states.

“We expect the organization to take care of everything behind-the-scenes, so we can focus on playing and improving. Having professional people behind us means a lot, because we can focus on what we do best: playing the game.”

Team captain, Mosaver “doktizh” Bandri, is excited to be a part of Copenhagen Flames.

There’s no denying that this is a very motivated group of players, as they’ve already set several ambitious goals.

“We want to climb the top 10 rankings and eventually, be able to compete with teams such as Rogue and Tricked eSports. We also hope to qualify for CEVO Main and expect to qualify for ESEA Main by reaching top 2 in the ESEA Open Playoff,” he confidently says before ending on this note:

“Being a part of Copenhagen Flames means that we’re representing a household name in Denmark. We’re very proud to make this name even bigger. This is the beginning of a, hopefully, big and exciting CS:GO adventure.”

We can’t wait to see what the future holds. We hope that you’ll continue to support us, and remember: #BringTheFlames!
